Carlos Costa and Dulce Felix win the Famalicão Half Marathon


Carlos Costa and Dulce Féliz won this Sunday the ninth edition of the Famalicão Half Marathon, an event that brought together 2,500 participants, between the main race and the 10 kilometer race.

 In the men's race, Carlos Costa completed the course in 1:07.48 minutes, beating Daniel Pinheiro (PAC Running Academy) by just 2 seconds and Hermano Ferreira (Escola Atletismo Coimbra) by 8 seconds.  In the women's race, Dulce Félix scored twice - with 1:16.20 -, winning with half a minute advantage over Filomena Costa (ACD Jardim da Serra), in 1:16.58, and more than four over Doroteia Peixoto (Amigos dantanha), with 1:20.47

 In the 10 kilometer race, the triumphs went to André Pereira (29.53) and Rafaela Fonseca (34.44).  Completing the podiums were Bruno Silva (30.39) and José Azevedo (31.42) in the men and Marina Regalo (36.13) and Sónia Ferreira (37.55) in the ladies

The Famalicão Half Marathon celebrated its ninth edition today, on an autumn morning when the rain decided to bless the race, however the passion for the race did not diminish and 2500 people walked the streets of the city.  Carlos Costa and Dulce Felix won the race.

Mário Passos, president of the Câmara Municipal de Famalicão, and Vanessa Carvalho, mother of the test, gave the starting shot for the test of 21 km and still for the Corrida and Caminhada with a distance of 10 km.

On a route that passes through the historic center of the city, but also through the outskirts, in a mix of urban and rural environments, there were many courageous athletes who took advantage of this sporting morning, even when the rain did not let up.

 André Pereira wins in the 10 km

In the second edition with the 10 km distance, André Pereira (SL Benfica) was the first to cross the finish line at 00:29:53, immediately followed by Bruno Silva (Prime Running Club) with a time of 00:30:39, and , closing the podium, José Azevedo (Escola Rosa Oliveira) with a time of 00:31:42.

 In the women's sector, it was Rafaela Fonseca (RD Águeda) who stood out from the rest of the athletes, finishing the race alone at 00:34:44.  In second place was Marina Regalo (Maia A.C.) with 00:36:13, and in third was Sónia Ferreira (Team El Comandante) with a time of 00:37:55.000

Carlos Costa was the big winner

 In the main race, it was the GD Guilhovai athlete who, after completing the 21 km in 01:07:48, won this 9th Famalicão Half Marathon.

 In second place was Daniel Pinheiro (PAC Running Academy), with a time of 01:07:50, and Hermano Ferreira (Escola Atletismo Coimbra) closed the podium at 01:07:56.

 Félix scored twice for the second year in women's

 SL Benfica athlete Dulce Félix was in the highest position on the podium when she reached the finish line with a time of 01:16:20.  In second place was Filomena Costa (ACD Jardim da Serra), at 01:16:58, followed by Doroteia Peixoto (Amigos da Montanha) with a time of 01:20:47.

 The podium protocol ceremony was attended by the Sports councilor of Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council, Pedro Oliveira, athlete Vanessa Carvalho, winner of the last edition of the Porto Marathon and godmother of the race, Jorge Teixeira, general director of Runporto, and the Olympic athlete José Regalo.
